About the position

The Anywhere UX team is a quickly growing and rapidly evolving team being positioned as a thought leader in the company. We are seeking a talented and experienced Principal UX Designer to join our team and revolutionize the way people interact with real estate technology. As a Principal Designer at Anywhere Real Estate, you will be at the forefront of designing innovative software that helps streamline processes for our agents and brokers. Your visionary approach and leadership will drive the design team to new heights, creating applications that are not only aesthetically pleasing but also functional and profitable. In this role, you will spearhead the development of design concepts that align with Anywhere Real Estate's vision and market trends. You will provide expert guidance on all design-related decisions, ensuring they meet the highest standards of quality and innovation. Leading brainstorming sessions and design workshops will be essential to foster creativity and idea generation within the team. You will oversee multiple design projects from inception to completion, coordinating with cross-functional teams, including architects, engineers, and Product Managers, to ensure seamless project execution. Developing project timelines, milestones, and deliverables in collaboration with the project management team will be a key responsibility. Building and maintaining strong relationships with partners will be crucial, as you will need to understand their needs and translate them into compelling design solutions. Presenting design proposals and progress updates to partner teams and leadership will ensure clear communication and stakeholder engagement. As the primary design contact, you will address concerns and ensure a positive experience for all involved. Mentorship is also a significant aspect of this role. You will mentor junior designers, providing guidance and feedback to help them grow professionally. Promoting a culture of continuous learning and encouraging the team to stay updated with the latest design trends and techniques will be part of your leadership approach. Collaboration with the UX research team will be vital to integrate user insights and data into design decisions. You will utilize UX research to inform and validate design concepts, ensuring they meet user needs and enhance user satisfaction. Advocating for user-centered design principles across all projects will ensure that user feedback is a critical component of the design process. Finally, you will work with Program management to develop and implement design operations strategies to streamline workflows and improve efficiency within the design team. Contributing to the selection and management of design tools, resources, and software will ensure the team has access to cutting-edge technology. Establishing metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the impact of design initiatives and drive continuous improvement will be essential to your role.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), or a related field.
  • Proven track record (10+ years) of designing user experiences for web and mobile applications with at least 3 years in a leadership position.
  • Proficiency in design and prototyping tools (e.g., Figma, InVision, etc.).
  • Solid understanding of user-centered design principles and methodologies.
  • Experience working with user research and usability testing.
  • Knowledge of current UX trends, best practices, and emerging technologies.
  • Strong understanding and advocacy for accessibility.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to present and defend design decisions and strategies.
