Principal Product Designer

About the position

As a Principal Product Designer at Zocdoc, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping how patients and providers experience our platform. With a deep understanding of our users, you'll tackle complex problems, craft thoughtful solutions, and deliver world-class designs that elevate our product. You’ll drive product strategy in partnership with cross-functional leaders, set the standard for design excellence, and mentor fellow designers to achieve their full potential. Your work will have a tangible impact, influencing how Zocdoc connects people to care while supporting providers in delivering exceptional services.

Responsibilities

• Taking full ownership of end-to-end design processes—from discovery and ideation to execution and iteration
• Creating and championing visually stunning and highly intuitive interaction designs that set a new standard for excellence
• Influencing strategy and driving progress by building strong, collaborative relationships with cross-functional partners and senior leaders
• Elevating the design team’s output by mentoring and guiding designers on best practices, advanced tools, and design processes
• Connecting the dots across workstreams to unify and lead large-scale visions that bridge various product domains

Requirements

• Extensive experience (7+ years) in product design, with a robust portfolio showcasing your process, critical thinking, and ability to craft elegant, user-centric designs
• Exceptional visual and interaction design skills, with a strong grasp of hierarchy, systems thinking, and attention to detail
• Mastery of the latest design and prototyping tools, including Figma, Framer, and cutting-edge AI tech for creating dynamic interactions and prototypes
• Superb critical thinking and problem-solving abilities, enabling you to tackle complex challenges and develop forward-thinking solutions
• Experience designing simple solutions within complex domains, spanning multiple touchpoints, various systems, and multiple users
• A proven track record of leveraging user research and product data to inform design solutions
• Outstanding communication skills, ensuring all stakeholders are informed and aligned through clear, concise, and thoughtful messaging
• A collaborative, entrepreneurial mindset with a bias toward action and ownership of outcomes
