About the position

As a Principal Product Manager for Search at Walmart, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our product offerings. This position requires a deep understanding of data-driven product decisions, where you will leverage product and feature analytics, data analysis tools, and modern industry practices to conduct independent analyses and derive insights. You will monitor, collect, and structure data to evaluate results, supporting the identification and application of relevant tools and techniques. Your role will also involve assisting in the planning, design, and implementation of exploratory data analysis to enhance product features and customer experiences. In addition to data analysis, you will be responsible for driving customer and client needs. This entails building and maintaining strong relationships with customers, proactively identifying their needs, and creating scalable processes to gather and analyze customer experiences. You will demonstrate a deep understanding of customer needs to inform product decisions and design new, barrier-free processes that enhance user satisfaction. Your ability to coach team members on customer focus will be crucial in ensuring that our products meet and exceed customer expectations. You will also take charge of product roadmap development and management. This includes developing and owning roadmaps for complex products, ensuring effective communication with internal and external stakeholders, and mentoring team members on product development practices. You will establish product roadmap expectations, performance measures, and goals, while managing the rollout and scaling of products using a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) approach. Your role will require you to articulate a clear product vision and strategy, identifying new areas for value creation and promoting product strategies to stakeholders. You will influence and build consensus among stakeholders, effectively communicating complex information and addressing ambiguity in technology development. Your technology orientation will enable you to manage the adoption of new technologies and drive business and user acceptance testing for complex products. In this position, you will also demonstrate in-depth domain expertise, comparing product maturity across subdomains and identifying areas for innovation. You will lead multiple business plans and projects, ensuring that business needs are met and promoting a culture of continuous learning and improvement. As a culture champion, you will model Walmart's values, support corporate social responsibility, and foster an inclusive environment for all associates.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct product and feature analytics with minimal guidance to derive insights and trends.
  • Monitor, collect, and structure data to evaluate product results.
  • Build and maintain relationships with customers to identify their needs.

  • Develop and own product roadmaps for complex products.
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders regarding product roadmaps.

  • Manage the adoption of new technologies and drive user acceptance testing.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related area and 9 years' experience in product management, or 11 years' experience in product management or related area.
  • Strong knowledge of product roadmap development techniques and Agile methodologies.
  • Experience in driving customer needs and creating scalable processes for customer experience analysis.
  • Ability to communicate complex information clearly and concisely to stakeholders.
  • In-depth knowledge of domain-specific methodologies and best practices.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration, or related area.
  • 8 years' experience as a product manager, ideally with consumer-facing, large-scale B2B/C products.
  • Supervisory experience in product management.
  • Knowledge of Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standards and assistive technologies.
