About the position

The Principal Risk Associate in the Enterprise Change and Risk Governance Team at Capital One plays a crucial role in ensuring that large-scale programs are effectively managed and adhere to governance requirements. This position involves collaborating with risk managers and program leaders to maintain standards and processes, while also focusing on quality assurance and risk management associated with project execution.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Standard Adherence activities for large programs, documenting outputs and communicating results with program leaders and stakeholders.
  • Perform effective challenge over large programs.
  • Support program Governance Evaluations by documenting outputs and communicating results with program leaders and stakeholders.
  • Support the creation of a semi-annual dashboard for Change Governance.
  • Maintain the Change Management Computer-Based Training (CBT) using Articulate Rise and monitor to ensure key resources have taken training.
  • Own updates to policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Support documentation requests with audit and/or external regulators on matters related to change governance.
  • Support maintenance of the Change Governance control suite.
  • Deliver continuous improvement activities for all change and risk governance processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or military experience.
  • At least 3 years of experience in quality control, process management, or project management.
  • At least 2 years of experience supporting, partnering, and interacting with internal business clients.

Nice-to-haves

  • At least 3 years of experience in risk management, compliance, or audit.
  • At least 3 years of experience leading cross-functional teams.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or Agile certification.
  • Experience working in an iterative, highly collaborative environment.
  • Experience working in the financial services industry.
