We are seeking a Principal S Engineer with extensive experience in delivering SaaS in the cloud. Are you a seasoned professional passionate about providing an exceptional customer experience? This position seeks the capability to own, lead, and drive major components of our product while mentoring and guiding junior team members. We are the AI Center of Excellence and are responsible for leading the discussion and implementation of AI for F5. We are responsible for the development of the AI Data Fabric, whose mission is to make it easy for Data Scientists to deploy fully built applications which comply with F5 governance standards. We need your assistance in making this future a reality by leading our platform operations efforts.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and implementation of new data fabric capabilities.
• Own the development, testing, and maintenance of internal pipelines.
• Set the vision and standard for foundational data fabric services.
• Accelerate the onboarding process of users and systems via automation.
• Manage network connectivity and access to data between departments.
• Collaborate with team members and technical leaders, providing mentorship and guidance.
• Research and explore new technologies and drive their adoption.
• Lead and participate in software design processes.
• Quickly adapt to new challenges in a hands-on environment.
• Ensure best practices in test automation.
• Lead the on-call response team.

Requirements

• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and debugging skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated sense of ownership and responsibility.
• Extensive hands-on experience with AWS & AWS Managed Services.
• Proficiency in Google Cloud software deployments.
• Proficiency in Kubernetes and other deployment methodologies.
• Strong knowledge of source control and development tools.
• Deep understanding of terraform and managing workloads via IaC.
• Expertise in cloud technologies (CI/CD, GitOps).
• Extensive experience with Linux/Unix and shell scripting.
• Proficiency in observability, monitoring, and alerting technologies.
• Solid understanding of DNS and CDN technologies.

Nice-to-haves

• Relevant hands-on experience with any industry-standard cloud provider would be preferred.
