About the position

The Principal Research and Advanced Design Test Engineer / Senior Principal Research and Advanced Design Test Engineer role at Northrop Grumman involves supporting the application of advanced commercial technologies to military use cases, particularly in the context of the Battlespace Architecture Systems Technology (BAST) Research and Advanced Design (RAD) portfolio. The position requires innovative thinkers who can develop test plans, oversee instrumentation, and support demonstrations and field tests, contributing to the advancement of military capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Developing comprehensive test plans
• Creating CONOPs (Concept of Operations) documents
• Overseeing instrumentation setup and management
• Providing support for demonstrations and field exercise tests

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in a STEM discipline and 5 years of related experience; OR a Master's Degree in a STEM discipline and 3 years of related experience; OR a Ph.D. in a STEM discipline and 0 years of related experience for Principal level
• Bachelor's Degree in a STEM discipline and 9 years of related experience; OR a Master's Degree in a STEM discipline and 7 years of related experience; OR a Ph.D. in a STEM discipline and 4 years of related experience for Senior Principal level
• Active DoD Secret Clearance or higher
• Ability to obtain and maintain DoD Top Secret clearance
• Ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance
• Experience with generating technical documents and using software/data processing tools such as MS Word, MS Excel, PowerPoint, and programming languages
• Proven experience with test planning & reporting

Nice-to-haves

• Master's Degree in a STEM discipline
• Understanding of common Test Engineering methodologies and practices
• Active DoD Top Secret Clearance
• Experience in creating Basis of Estimates (BOEs) and/or executing program budgets
