About the position

The Principal Systems Integration and Test Engineer for Autonomous Vehicles at NVIDIA will play a crucial role in developing and productizing innovative solutions for self-driving cars. This position involves collaborating with a team of AI researchers and engineers to build a comprehensive autonomous vehicle stack while adhering to NVIDIA and automotive industry standards. The role is dynamic and engaging, focusing on real-world applications and customer needs in the rapidly evolving field of autonomous transportation.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and improve existing software integration testing for NDAS.
  • Triage, debug and create urgent fixes for complicated system integration issues.
  • Develop and lead integration test frameworks, from framework design to easy test creation tooling and strategy for testing at scale for integration coverage.
  • Partner with SIL & HIL development engineering to highlight tooling gaps in existing test frameworks and testing harnesses.
  • Collaborate with NDAS development teams to bridge testing and evaluation gaps.
  • Work with safety and V&V teams to enable test coverage for product release.

Requirements

  • BS, MS, or PhD in Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, or a related field or equivalent experience.
  • 15+ years experience in test engineering, robotics, large scale architecture management or systems engineering.
  • Excellent programming skills in C++, C, and Python along with source control tools like Git and Perforce.
  • Expertise in reviewing C++ software changes quickly and understanding the impact/risk of changes across the software stack.
  • Proven expertise in crafting triage and debug tools using C++, C, and Python.
  • Experience with Linux, QNX or other real-time operating systems, GPU, sensor technologies towards image processing, computer vision, and multimedia.
  • Knowledge about system programming, threading, mutex, synchronization, communication, and parallel computing to build scalable applications.
  • Strong debugging abilities in highly pipelined software and operating systems.
  • Experience with integrating and debugging large scale software in Automotive Vehicle and/or Robotic Systems.
  • Demonstrated experience in software integration across sophisticated software stacks and a drive to productization.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to drive test design alignment across multiple groups.
  • 5+ years of experience working with CI/CD, VnV, and/or development testing programs.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working with autonomous vehicles and/or machine learning.
  • Knowledge of ROS-like middleware software and real-time operating systems.
  • Experience with performance measurement tooling and profilers.
  • Experience working with simulators and crafting both SIL & HIL tests.
  • Experience with start-ups and/or early-stage products.
