About the position

As a Principal UX Designer for Display Ads, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the future of Walmart Connect's Display Ad platform. This platform enables Walmart suppliers and sellers to run high-performing ad campaigns targeting precise audiences at scale-while helping shoppers discover products that enhance their shopping journey. Your role will focus on transforming complex workflows into intuitive, user-friendly experiences that drive both customer satisfaction and business growth.

Responsibilities

  • Design best-in-class product experiences with a focus on visual design and information architecture.
  • Lead and manage diverse initiatives, adapting to shifting priorities and timelines.
  • Define experience strategy and set design direction to meet user and business needs.
  • Collaborate with design research to craft insightful, data-driven solutions.
  • Balance user needs with business goals to deliver impactful results.
  • Rapidly prototype and experiment in a fast-paced environment.
  • Champion Design Thinking across the organization.
  • Communicate with empathy and clarity, aligning stakeholders and teams around a shared vision.
  • Foster collaboration, elevating your team's skills and design outcomes.
  • Partner with the Design System team to create scalable and consistent experiences.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in UI/UX design, graphic design, visual communication, product design, computer science, information technology, or related area and 5 years' experience in UI/UX, interactive and visual design, electronics art, multimedia design, or related area.
  • 7 years' experience in UI/UX, interactive and visual design, electronics art, multimedia design, or related area.

Nice-to-haves

  • Design certification (for example, IDEOU - Foundations in Design Thinking Certificate).
  • Driving product development in a user experience area.
  • Master's degree in UI/UX Design, Interactive and Visual Design, Product Design, or related area.
  • Related industry experience (for example, retail, supply chain, eCommerce, healthcare).
  • Knowledge in implementing Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standards.
  • Knowledge of accessibility best practices.
