Principal UX Designer

Enterprise Technology owns Blue Origin's product and software development and codifies operational processes and methodologies into intelligent products that enable the design, planning, manufacturing, launch, and maintenance of our rockets. We’re looking for a Principal UX Designer to define and raise the bar for design standards across Blue Origin's software portfolio. You will be responsible for designs and customer research that impact our end-to-end mission lifecycle, from supply chain and manufacturing to test and flight operations. You will partner with executives and product leaders to set the vision for our next generation product suite, and lead the execution of that vision.

Responsibilities

• Work with business partners, product, and engineering leads to scope, strategize and model solutions to a variety of business challenges
• Present design visions and deliverables to executive stakeholders, and influence overall product and company strategy
• Conduct and synthesize research into Journey maps, persona development and task flow models
• Lead peer design critiques and develop community of practice
• Rapidly prototype design solutions with customers and integrate AI into design workflows
• Nurture effective partnerships with Software Engineering, Product Management and Business Engagement leaders to deliver world-class software solutions
• Incorporate user feedback to continuously iterate and improve upon existing solutions

Requirements

• 10+ years of applied experience creating software design solutions, enterprise software experience or internal operations tooling experience is a plus
• Fluent in design thinking methodologies, able to focus a team on goals, and both strategic and tactical solutions
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills-able to clearly present design logic
• A demonstrated history of becoming an expert in an unfamiliar domain
• Intense curiosity for understanding the details of our business and how to continuously improve it
• A high level of initiative to overcome obstacles and drive towards action
• Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion
• Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum
