About the position

Join the Snowflake team as a Senior Value Engineer in our FinOps & Spend Analytics team. This role is designed for individuals who are passionate about blending business consulting with advanced analytics. You will collaborate with account teams and engage directly with customers to optimize their use of Snowflake's cloud platform. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, technical architecture understanding, and consulting or sales experience, particularly in financial planning and analysis (FP&A).

Responsibilities

  • Partner with account teams and customers to frame and address complex business challenges through data-driven insights, focusing on cost optimization, performance enhancement, and ROI maximization.
  • Analyze customer consumption data on Snowflake to provide actionable insights that attribute, control, and optimize spend across various business units, workloads, and use cases.
  • Develop and refine cloud unit economics models, define KPIs, and support cost, usage, and performance benchmarks tailored to specific customer needs.
  • Build and maintain sophisticated ROI and economic models to support customer budgeting, forecasting, and the rollout of new Snowflake features.
  • Translate complex data insights into compelling narratives that influence strategic decisions, catering to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as Computer Science, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline.
  • 6-10 years of relevant working experience, including 4+ years focused in data analytics, financial planning and analysis (FP&A), business consulting, or cloud data warehousing.
  • A strong background in business consulting or FP&A, with a proven ability to solve complex business problems using data and analytics.
  • Advanced skills in SQL and Excel for data analysis and reporting; familiarity with Python and Snowflake or other cloud-based data platforms is advantageous.
  • A solid understanding of cloud technology architectures, particularly in data warehousing, and experience in cloud economics or FinOps is a plus.

Nice-to-haves

  • Advanced degrees or certifications in analytics or business management (e.g., MBA).
  • Familiarity with Python and Snowflake or other cloud-based data platforms.
