Raytheon is seeking an Operations Manufacturing Engineer who will be providing engineering support and expertise to the Forest Consolidated Manufacturing Center to ensure hardware is assembled properly per all drawing requirements. This position will provide education and knowledge on the use of manufacturing resources in the creation of instructions to assemble the product. They will manage processes with minimal oversight and provide measurable input to new products, processes, or standards in operational plans to meet customer integrations and/or objectives. The position works in a SCIF environment with flexible work hours to accommodate work/life balance practices.

Responsibilities

  • Lead manufacturing engineering initiatives within assigned work center(s) within the Forest Manufacturing Site.
  • Lead and/or participate in Root Cause analysis and CORE initiatives.
  • Actively pursue methods and process to improve overall Quality of our product.
  • Review and disposition hardware as required to maintain production process flow.
  • Create, modify and maintain Assembly instructions, Routers, and Process Control Documents.
  • Lead and mentor other engineers at the site.

Requirements

  • Typically requires: A University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years experience.
  • Experience with Six Sigma methodology (CORE) and/or tools such as lean manufacturing, diagnostic, process optimization and continuous improvement.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Experience interpreting engineering drawings.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Electronic Circuit Card, Cabling, and Electronic System assembly.
  • Experience with hardware assembly, torque controls and analyzing assembly tolerance stack up.
  • Previous experience with Military and Commercial Standards, Materials and Process Specifications.
  • Experience with modeling in Creo, or SolidWorks.
  • Experience in supporting design and manufacturing processes.
  • Experience with lean manufacturing concepts.
  • Experience with use of statistical process controls for process monitoring, qualification and/or design feedback.
  • Active DoD Secret security clearance.
