About the position

The Software Engineer role at Palo Alto Networks focuses on designing, developing, and delivering next-generation technologies within the Prisma Access team. Responsibilities

• Design, develop and implement highly scalable software features and infrastructure on the next-generation security platform.
• Collaborate with development and quality assurance groups to ensure the best quality of software.
• Profile, optimize, and tune systems software for efficient cloud operation.
• Work with DevOps and Technical Support teams to troubleshoot customer issues.
• Apply PanOS features on Prisma Access in collaboration with other software development teams.
• Interview, mentor, and coach new team members.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in developing data-plane applications.
• In-depth understanding of networking concepts and TCP/IP stack, TLS.
• Required C/C++ programming experience with building applications in the cloud.
• Strong data structures/algorithms and debugging skills.
• In-depth understanding of Operating System principles and OS like Linux/Unix.

Nice-to-haves

• Hands-on programming experience in Python and Go.
• Working experience with Envoy is a plus.
• Exposure to building Microservices.
