About The Position

The Flexographic Printing Press Operator is responsible for operating printing equipment to produce high-quality graphics on paper and film substrates for medical device packaging. This role involves setting up press components, ensuring quality control, and maintaining budgeted throughput rates while minimizing waste. The operator will also perform maintenance and repairs on equipment, manage inventory, and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience operating printing presses is required.

Responsibilities

• Check quality and correctness of printing mats and set up printing sleeves or mandrel.
• Inspect raw materials to ensure correct web stock and ink usage.
• Place roll of web material stock on press and check for correctness.
• Operate the printing press to produce high-quality products.
• Perform cleanup and preventative maintenance of printing and slitting equipment.
• Make repairs on printing and slitting equipment and assist with major repairs.
• Perform inventory control and record usage of inks, mats, and paper stock.
• Schedule web material processing to maintain efficient operations.
• Complete material transfers between departments and maintain spare parts inventory.
• Set up and process web materials on slitting equipment as necessary.
• Maintain a clean work area to meet GMP requirements.
• Report safety hazards and production waste according to accounting methods.
• Complete quality inspection sheets as required.
