About the position

The Process Engineer position at Xerox involves providing essential engineering support to resin production operations. The role requires participation in day-to-day plant management activities, ensuring that production schedules are met and that various plant performance metrics are achieved. The engineer will lead process improvement and productivity projects, which are critical for enhancing operational efficiency and effectiveness within the manufacturing environment. In this role, the engineer will supervise the Bargaining Unit industrial workforce personnel, which includes both Operations and Maintenance teams. Troubleshooting polymer manufacturing equipment, control systems, and processes is a key responsibility, as is supporting various productivity projects aimed at optimizing production workflows. The position requires a commitment to safety, as it involves safety-sensitive job duties as defined by the Oklahoma Medical Marijuana and Patient Protection Act. Candidates will undergo a pre-employment drug screening as part of the hiring process. The role also necessitates a willingness to work overtime and participate in shift rotations, which are essential for maintaining continuous production operations. Candidates must be physically capable of meeting all OSHA-required medical clearance exams, including the ability to wear a respirator. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is required, and experience with PLC, Variable Frequency Drive, SCADA, and electro-mechanical applications is preferred. Strong communication skills, both written and oral, along with good interpersonal skills, are essential for success in this position.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • B.S. in Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Understanding of polymer chemistry, process control methods, and equipment.
  • Ability to work in both theoretical and hands-on application environments.
  • Must be computer proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with PLC, Variable Frequency Drive, SCADA, and electro-mechanical applications is preferred.
  • Good communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
