As a Process Engineer in Chemical Manufacturing at Xerox, you will play a crucial role in providing engineering support to resin production operations. Your primary responsibilities will include participating in day-to-day plant management activities, ensuring the delivery of production schedules, and monitoring various plant performance metrics. You will also lead process improvement and productivity projects aimed at enhancing operational efficiency and effectiveness. This position requires a strong understanding of polymer chemistry and process control methods, as well as the ability to troubleshoot polymer manufacturing equipment and control systems effectively. In this role, you will supervise a Bargaining Unit industrial workforce, which includes both Operations and Maintenance personnel. Your leadership will be essential in guiding the team through daily operations and ensuring that safety protocols are adhered to, especially given the safety-sensitive nature of the job. You will be expected to work in a shift rotation and may need to work overtime as required by production demands. Additionally, you must be physically capable of meeting all OSHA-required medical clearance exams, including the ability to wear a respirator. To succeed in this position, you should be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and have experience with PLC, Variable Frequency Drive, SCADA, and electro-mechanical applications. Strong communication skills, both written and oral, along with good interpersonal skills, are essential for collaborating with team members and other departments.
