About the position

The role of a Process Engineer III is to lead engineering initiatives to develop and maintain efficient and effective manufacturing processes. Leveraging your understanding of materials, validation expertise and problem solving will allow you implement new processes, improve existing, and troubleshoot effectively to meet business needs. This position will be primarily responsible for manufacturing lines to include thermoforming of materials with secondary responsibilities to assess optimization of manual kitting processes. This role requires an onsite workmode from our GA office. Boston Scientific will not offer sponsorship or take over sponsorship of an employment VISA for this position at this time.

Responsibilities

  • Assesses process capabilities, prioritizes process improvement opportunities, and implement process improvements on multiple and moderately complex processes.
  • Monitor performance of equipment and processes, providing troubleshooting and root cause analysis of non-conformances, low yields, or other quality/production issues.
  • Executes the functional deliverables associated with the PDP/TDP, Project Management, and Quality Systems.
  • Writes validation protocols and reports applicable to new processes.
  • Prepares and presents technical data and recommendations at technical reviews.
  • Ensures proper documentation is completed to meet quality systems requirements. (e.g., BOM's, Routers, FMEA's, etc.).
  • Work with vendors/suppliers on technical design, procurement, and fabrication of materials, equipment, fixturing, etc.
  • Develops qualified production lines.
  • Provides Design for Manufacturability (DFM) input.
  • Contributes ideas to or generates Intellectual Property submissions.
  • Trains and/or provides work direction to technicians and may train manufacturing personnel when required as part of a validation.
  • May serve as core team member or extended team member on new product projects.
  • Communicate effectively to an audience consisting of peers, operations management, and supporting divisions (R&D, Sustaining Engineering, Project Management, etc).

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (preferably Manufacturing, Electrical, or Mechanical) or related technical field
  • 4+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Thermoforming experience including semi-automated processes
  • Process characterization experience (DOE and validation experience)
  • Strong understanding of engineering and problem-solving principles, concepts, tools, and techniques, as well as fundamentals of change management and process validation
  • Proven ability to provide creative solutions and collaboratively draw ideas from cross functional teams

Nice-to-haves

  • Device assembly/testing and packaging systems experience
  • Statistical Analysis
  • Ability to communicate at all levels of the organization
  • Experience in the Medical device industry
  • Experience with Windchill and/or MES
