About the position

The University at Buffalo (SUNY) is seeking a Process Engineer for its Shared Instrumentation Laboratories. This position is integral to the operation and maintenance of advanced scientific instrumentation and will play a key role in supporting research activities across various disciplines. The Process Engineer will be responsible for ensuring that all laboratory equipment is functioning optimally and that users are trained in the proper use of these instruments. This role requires a strong understanding of engineering principles, as well as hands-on experience with laboratory equipment and processes. In this position, the Process Engineer will collaborate with faculty, researchers, and students to develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the use of shared instrumentation. The engineer will also be tasked with troubleshooting equipment issues, performing routine maintenance, and coordinating repairs with external vendors when necessary. Additionally, the Process Engineer will be involved in the procurement of new equipment, ensuring that it meets the needs of the laboratory and complies with safety regulations. The successful candidate will have a strong background in engineering, preferably with experience in a laboratory setting. They will be expected to contribute to the continuous improvement of laboratory processes and to foster a culture of safety and compliance within the Shared Instrumentation Laboratories. Responsibilities

Requirements
