The Process Improvement Engineer Intern will work full-time during the summer of 2025, with a program length of 12-16 weeks, located in Marble Hill, Georgia. This internship offers an opportunity to drive improvements in a dynamic, informal, and non-hierarchical culture where ideas matter. Interns will work on diverse projects across various businesses and organizations, enhancing their teamwork skills through collaborative communication. The internship program provides immediate responsibilities, continuous coaching and mentoring, senior leader visibility, and a dynamic and respectful work environment that values every individual and promotes work/life balance. Successful completion of the internship may lead to priority for full-time positions at Imerys.

Responsibilities

  • Spend approximately 70% of time in the plant sites to gather data and the remaining time at a desktop documenting improvements.
  • Identify improvements based on the packaging process.
  • Validate off weight rejection rate off each packaging line.
  • Identify possible reclamation methods.
  • Work with Premier tech to create SOPs for bag weight changes / Maintenance PMs.
  • Perform motion studies and identify areas of improvement.

Requirements

  • Pursuing a degree in a relevant field, e.g., industrial or mechanical engineering.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Problem-solving skills and enjoyment in collaborating to tackle challenges.
  • Demonstrated leadership in various settings, such as school clubs, sports teams, or work projects.
  • Authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Able to pass a drug screen and background check.
