About the position

The Procurement Engineer (PE) at Siemens will play a crucial role in the product development, sourcing, and procurement engineering processes. This position focuses on optimizing costs, reducing lead times, and developing the supply chain to ensure timely delivery of assigned products and components. The PE will collaborate with various internal stakeholders and suppliers to drive cost reduction measures and enhance the overall procurement strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Be actively involved in the product development/manufacturing process and implement cost reduction measures.
  • Align closely with R&D/Engineering, PLM, Commodity Managers, and Buyers.
  • Include suppliers in the development process and conduct cost-benefit analysis workshops.
  • Conduct market analysis on global technologies and price trends to identify new suppliers.
  • Introduce and follow up on cross-functional procurement strategies to align with commodity strategies.
  • Drive sourcing decisions with interface partners to incorporate technological know-how.
  • Provide input for supplier quotes optimization and lead time reduction.
  • Develop suppliers from an engineering standpoint and conduct supplier audits.

Requirements

  • 5 - 7+ years' experience in Electromechanical/Mechatronics product engineering, R&D, manufacturing, or technical procurement.
  • Skilled in supplier interfacing and project management.
  • Ability to understand product/component design and discuss it with suppliers.
  • Graduate in Engineering or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to travel 10%.
