This role is within the Renewables Integration Team and supports the development and on-going maintenance of the Interconnection Management System (IMS). The IMS serves as the software system for processing Interconnection requests for generators both utility-scale and small (e.g. rooftop solar) across our six regulated jurisdictions. This role will primarily focus on the utility-scale processes such as the FERC Order 2023 Annual Cluster in Florida and Carolinas. The team is undertaking a large project to replace the current IMS across all six jurisdictions with a new vendor product, PowerClerk. This position will work on the project team delivering the IMS project over the next ~18 month and will continue to support and further improve the system once implemented to meet changing business and policy requirements and to support further integration with other enterprise systems. The Product Analyst will work with a cross-functional agile team including vendor resources plus internal IT and business SMEs. The Product Analyst is responsible for cultivating a thorough understanding of the Interconnection business processes and policies and working with business process owners and SMEs to document and translate business requirements into workflows, business rules, and logic configured within the IMS. The Product Analyst works with the Product Owner in developing and delivering the product roadmap while minimizing disruptions to on-going operations. A solid understanding of Duke Energy's regulatory framework is beneficial as the role requires the ability to read and understand details of state and FERC Interconnection Standards, Service Regulations and requirements. Additionally, experience working with large software and IT systems and with data analysis, reporting, testing, data validation, and data migration are valued in applicants for this role.
