About the position

The Product Designer for Journal at Apple is a senior role focused on creating simple and beautiful user experiences for a first-party application. This position requires a blend of visual and interaction design skills, with an emphasis on collaboration within a multi-disciplinary team to enhance and expand the application. The designer will be responsible for guiding projects from brainstorming to implementation, ensuring that the final product delights users and improves their lives.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Applications design team and cross-functional partners including engineering, product, marketing, and QA.
• Lead the design process from brainstorming through implementation, ensuring clarity and understanding of complex matters.
• Communicate concepts and designs effectively through prototypes, sketches, and high-fidelity comps.
• Mentor and support team members, fostering a collaborative team environment.
• Manage multiple features from inception to fruition, ensuring timely delivery and quality.

Requirements

• 5+ years of work experience in product design and UI across various platforms such as iOS and web.
• Experience in shipping digital products from start to finish, including documentation and development processes.
• Ability to communicate concepts and designs clearly through various visual tools and presentations.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present work to large groups and executives.
