About the position

At Notion, we are on a mission to empower individuals and teams to tailor software to solve any problem. Since our inception in 2016, we have partnered with notable clients like Pixar and Figma, and we are excited to expand our diverse and creative team. Our work environment is in-person, requiring employees to be in the office for two Anchor Days (Mondays and Thursdays) and encouraging a third day in the office each week.

Responsibilities

• Design product concepts that balance vision, craft, speed, and business potential.
• Craft every detail of new product features, from idea to UX to pixel-perfect execution.
• Run projects end to end with engineers to drive your vision to the ship line.
• Partner closely with Customer Experience, Sales, and Customer Success teams to understand user needs and prioritize the product roadmap.
• Work with Marketing to create compelling narratives throughout the user lifecycle and across various channels.
• Create new patterns that are intuitive and practical, evolving our design system as we scale.

Requirements

• 5+ years of working experience in product design or a related field.
• Ability to run projects independently from start to finish.
• Strong understanding of customer needs and user experience advocacy.
• Skill in creating clear, intuitive, and visually appealing human interfaces.
• Ability to balance business needs with design craft and speed.
• Strong collaboration skills with stakeholders and the ability to internalize feedback.
• Proficiency in storytelling through both words and visuals.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience designing and building tools with small teams.
• Unique strengths and perspectives that contribute to team diversity.
• Familiarity with the challenges of fragmented tools and information silos.
• Knowledge of computing pioneers like Douglas Engelbart and Alan Kay.
• Ability to code as a designer.
