About the position

The Federal Certification Analyst at F5 is responsible for supporting compliance audits and assessments related to federal certifications, including FIPS, Common Criteria, and DodIN APL. This role involves collaboration with product development teams, managing third-party relationships, and ensuring timely feedback and remediation of certification-related issues. The analyst will also oversee documentation, budgeting, and logistics for testing and evaluations, while maintaining communication with stakeholders and certifying bodies.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support for product management certifications for software and hardware.
  • Align with procurement, legal, and security for third-party onboarding activities.
  • Manage third-party evaluation rotation to avoid bottlenecks in certification processes.
  • Conduct third-party gap analysis management and transition reports into JIRA tickets.
  • Participate in onsite evaluations and manage logistics for testing equipment.
  • Collaborate with product management, product development, and certification architects on certification efforts.
  • Track certification-specific status and manage issues that are gating certification.
  • Maintain the F5 certification public-facing dashboard and manage documentation for certifications.
  • Create and manage DISA Plan of Action and Mitigation (POA&M) for DodIN APL.
  • Oversee budgeting, ordering, and shipping of equipment for testing and evaluations.
  • Manage contracts for third-party advisors and consultants, ensuring timely documentation completion.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business or engineering or 2+ years of direct experience with federal certifications.
  • Experience managing third-party relationships with evaluation labs.
  • Familiarity with certification documentation deliverables and testing schedules.
  • Practical experience with federal certifications and stakeholder management.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to track multiple projects.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with JIRA and Confluence for project management and documentation tracking.
  • Knowledge of business finances, including invoice approval and milestone tracking.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new certifications as required.
