Product Manager (Non-Technical Consumer Goods)

About the position

In this role, you will collaborate closely with the Senior Product Manager to oversee the full product development cycle, ensuring awareness of the status of each style at every stage including sourcing and development, product and packaging specifications, costing, managing timelines & critical milestones, and sample management and approvals (including Licensed product). You will manage all incoming samples, maintain an accurate sample tracking sheet, and keep an organized sample storage area. Additionally, you will facilitate sample reviews with cross-functional partners in PD & Design, manage and ship samples for customer presentations, and coordinate with the licensing team to meet product deadlines and approval processes for licensed merchandise. You will also develop and manage line lists, manage product lifecycle and development, drive early identification of challenges/issues, assist with sourcing/spec sheet creation, manage Sales Quote Request process, HTS process, UPC process, and update Category and Customer Presentations. Furthermore, you will assist in analyzing in-season sales data and participate in market trend research to enhance market knowledge and recommend viable items for development that will drive incremental sales.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Senior Product Manager to oversee the full product development cycle.

• Facilitate samples review with cross-functional partners in PD & Design.
• Manage and ship all samples and mockups for customer presentations.
• Coordinate with the licensing team to meet product deadlines and approval processes.
• Develop and manage line lists.
• Manage product lifecycle and development.
• Drive early identification of challenges/issues and develop recommendations for resolution.
• Assist Sr. PD Manager with creation of new item sourcing/spec sheet.
• Manage Sales Quote Request process with suppliers and/or HK Team.
• Set-up MQ documents and send to factories.
• Manage HTS process and send to compliance team.
• Manage UPC process by assigning UPC numbers to newly sourced items.
• Update Category and Customer Presentations with accurate product information.
• Assist in analyzing in-season sales data with the Sr. Product Manager.
• Participate in market trend research and competitive shopping.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business/Marketing or similar discipline or equivalent level of on-the-job-training.
• 5-7 years of product development experience in the consumer products industry.
• Proven ability to develop product lines from concept through product launch.
• Experience with management and creation of Licensed products is a plus.
• Creative and solution-driven with the ability to multi-task and prioritize competing demands.
• Customer facing experience with strong presentation abilities.
• Ability to communicate ideas within a collaborative product development process.
• Deadline conscious and detail oriented with the ability to self-direct priorities.
• Ability to adapt to rapidly changing priorities and deliverables.
• Ability to determine new market opportunities.
• Experience working internationally, specifically in China.
• Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Willingness to travel to buying office, production facilities, and trend trips as needed.
