About the position

The Product Owner/Business Analyst (BA) role is responsible for defining and managing the product vision and roadmap while ensuring alignment with stakeholder needs and business objectives. This position requires a blend of product ownership and business analysis skills to facilitate communication between stakeholders and development teams, conduct thorough analysis of business requirements, and drive project success through effective management and reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and communicate the product vision and roadmap in collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Own and prioritize the product backlog based on business value, stakeholder input, and strategic alignment.
  • Define and refine user stories, acceptance criteria, and deliverables.
  • Act as the primary liaison between stakeholders and development teams, ensuring clear and concise communication of product goals.
  • Conduct regular backlog grooming, sprint planning, and retrospective sessions with the development team.
  • Conduct in-depth analysis of business needs, processes, and requirements, and translate them into actionable items.
  • Gather, document, and analyze requirements through interviews, workshops, and stakeholder analysis.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive business, functional, and non-functional requirement documentation.
  • Develop user stories, use cases, wireframes, and workflows to communicate requirements to development teams.
  • Work with QA teams to define test scenarios and ensure alignment with business requirements.
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders to understand and prioritize their needs.
  • Facilitate communication between stakeholders and cross-functional teams to ensure alignment.
  • Lead workshops, presentations, and demonstrations to update stakeholders on project progress, solicit feedback, and drive decision-making.
  • Analyze data to identify trends, insights, and improvement areas to optimize product performance.
  • Develop and present regular reports on product performance, key metrics, and user feedback.
  • Utilize data-driven insights to propose new features, improvements, and innovations.
  • Collaborate with project management to ensure timely and successful delivery of projects.
  • Monitor project progress, manage risks, and proactively address potential issues.
  • Ensure all project documentation, including requirements, user stories, and testing criteria, is complete and up to date.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, or related field.
  • 3-5+ years of experience as a Product Owner, Business Analyst, or similar role in an Agile environment.
  • Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies and hands-on experience with backlog management tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and translate business needs into technical requirements.
  • Proficient in creating wireframes, process flows, and other business analysis artifacts.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience with data analysis tools and techniques is a plus.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in specific industry, e.g., FinTech, eCommerce, SaaS, or relevant sector.
  • Certifications like Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) or Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP).
  • Familiarity with UX/UI principles and customer-centric design.
  • Proficiency in SQL or other data query languages is an advantage.
