About the position

Discover is seeking a Product Owner for Card Strategic Partnerships within the Open Banking sector. This role is pivotal in maximizing the value of our products and ensuring that we deliver innovative solutions that enhance customer experiences and drive business value. As a Product Professional, you will be at the heart of our product development process, working collaboratively with cross-functional teams to prioritize and manage the product backlog, ensuring alignment with our strategic objectives and key results (OKRs). You will be responsible for maintaining key product documentation, including customer journey maps and technical specifications, while ensuring compliance with regulatory and risk management standards. In this role, you will act as a servant leader, guiding your team through Agile practices such as sprints, planning, and retrospectives. You will define both functional and non-functional requirements, create user stories, and validate acceptance criteria to ensure that our products meet the highest quality standards. Your ability to inspect and evaluate product progress through each iteration will be crucial in delivering a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) that meets customer needs and supports our business goals. You will also collaborate with business technology teams to optimize system components and maintain infrastructure, while managing project scope, deliverables, and timelines. This position requires a proactive approach to risk management and customer-impacting issues, ensuring that we continuously improve our offerings and maintain a culture of accountability and ownership within the product team. Responsibilities

• Maximize the value of the product resulting from the work of the team.
• Build and prioritize the product backlog to achieve Objectives and Key Results (OKRs).
• Maintain key product documentation such as customer journey maps and technical specifications.
• Ensure product features align with regulatory, compliance, and risk management standards.
• Articulate requirements into use cases, agile stories, and acceptance criteria.
• Create and validate user story acceptance criteria.
• Inspect and evaluate product progress through each iteration.
• Lead Agile practices including sprints, planning, execution, and retrospectives.
• Define functional and non-functional product requirements and ensure completeness.
• Execute appropriate testing frameworks for product features.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support go-to-market strategies.
• Manage and communicate project scope, deliverables, and timelines.
• Partner with vendors and cross-functional partners in product evaluation and enhancement.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Engineering, Business Administration, Finance, Mathematics, Economics, Statistics, or related field.
• 4+ years of experience in Product Management or Engineering in Financial Services or Tech Industry.
• In lieu of a degree, 6+ years of relevant experience in Product Management or Engineering.
