About the position

The Product Owner II - d Services at Liberty Mutual Insurance plays a crucial role in representing the voice of the customer and the organization. This position focuses on delivering business value through vendor-originating data related to Vehicles, Drivers, Credit, and Compliance within the Reusify product line. The Product Owner collaborates closely with stakeholders to define and prioritize initiatives, ensuring alignment with customer needs and organizational goals while working within an agile framework.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates to create and enhance a product vision and alignment with strategic priorities with stakeholders.
  • Contributes to the development of the portfolio vision and communicates it to the agile team and other teams.
  • Works with key customer stakeholders to define Key Value Indicators for measuring outcomes.
  • Owns and maintains the product backlog, ensuring clear and actionable initiatives, epics, and user stories.
  • Sets priorities and participates in the quarterly planning cycle for the products.
  • Collaborates with Product Owners across USRM and GRS to set priorities for portfolio quarterly planning.
  • Sets expectations with stakeholders for the delivery of new capabilities and features, defining Key Value Indicators for outcome measurement.
  • Participates in agile team demos, retrospectives, and scrum ceremonies.
  • Works daily with the agile team to clarify business needs and assist in removing product-level roadblocks.
  • Collaborates with IT and business leadership to align development and business goals.
  • Monitors and maintains product health, balancing long and short-term costs with desired outcomes.
  • Analyzes feasibility, cost of delay ramifications, and customer-related product usage metrics.
  • Understands regulatory and compliance constraints on the product and prioritizes accordingly.
  • Communicates expected value and changes in value to be delivered in each iteration to stakeholders.
  • May lead or co-lead customer-centric design and usability testing with agile teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (business, computer science, humanities, etc.).
  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years of direct experience with agile teams and 5 years in business, technology, or consulting.
  • Experience with vendor integrations and vendor management, API development, and web-based applications is desirable.
  • Knowledge of Agile development methodologies and IT project management.
  • Ability to explain complex ideas and educate stakeholders on business vision and impact of change.
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to influence diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to make difficult and quick decisions daily.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a demonstrated ability to lead a team to solutions.
  • Experience in the insurance industry preferred.
  • Experience delivering applications involving user interfaces and APIs is preferred.
