About the position

KBR's Defense Systems Engineering, Naval Solutions Division is seeking an experienced Product Owner with a SCRUM Master Certification to support Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) efforts related to Aviation Product Lifecycle Management (AvPLM). The ideal candidate will be customer-focused and capable of supporting initiatives within a dynamic environment. This role requires managing software development and customization teams, with a strong familiarity in Agile methodologies. The successful candidate will be responsible for team progress, interpreting and implementing customer requirements, and managing software development, customization, integration, and migration to the Government Cloud Environment (GCE). In this position, the Product Owner will provide direct support and leadership to a development and implementation team responsible for the customization and deployment of solutions. The candidate should possess comprehensive knowledge across critical tasks and high-impact assignments, plan and lead major technology assignments, evaluate performance results, recommend changes affecting short-term project growth and success, and function as a technical expert across multiple project assignments. The role involves participating in daily programmatic meetings to discuss status, customer needs, and team progress. The Product Owner will provide leadership and direction to a team of software development and implementation professionals to align requirements with work scope and ensure delivery schedules are achieved. Additionally, the candidate will participate in future requirements development, provide technical direction related to software design and testing, and work with various teams to ensure strong communication and overall product team integration. Familiarity with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), Product Data Management (PDM), Computer-Aided Design (CAD), Bill of Material (BOM) Management, Mechanical/Electrical CAD, and Additive Manufacturing is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in daily programmatic meetings to discuss status, customer needs, and team progress.
  • Provide leadership and direction to a team of software development/implementation professionals to align requirements with work scope and ensure delivery schedules are achieved.
  • Participate in future requirements development.
  • Provide technical direction related to software design and testing.
  • Work with teams involving engineering project leads, product marketing, CAD designers, and other stakeholders to ensure strong communication and overall product team integration.
  • Analyze software releases to evaluate the impact on product improvement and value stream mapping workflows.
  • Engage with team members and become familiar with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), Product Data Management (PDM), Computer-Aided Design (CAD), Bill of Material (BOM) Management, Mechanical/Electrical CAD, and Additive Manufacturing.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in an IT field from an accredited US institution.
  • 4 years of relevant experience, including managing software development/customization teams.
  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Active Secret clearance or clearance eligibility, Single Scope Background Investigation.
  • Certified SCRUM Master, Security+ CE, and Operating System (OS) Certification.
