The Product Owner, Manager role at Freddie Mac is focused on transforming the housing finance system by understanding customer needs and leveraging technology to deliver value. This position involves developing and driving the product vision and strategy, ensuring alignment of product features, and continuously improving the product backlog. The role requires collaboration with cross-organizational teams to implement new capabilities and communicate effectively with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Set ambitious and clear product vision and communicate effectively to key stakeholders.
• Own the end-to-end product strategy from inception and determine business value once the solution enters production.
• Ensure alignment of product features and stories, reviewing, giving feedback, and prioritizing user stories in line with the vision.
• Continuously improve the backlog with the team, ensuring all items are clearly described, estimated, and prioritized.
• Ensure customer-driven design considering user pain points and usability test results, using market and industry knowledge.
• Approve each feature and provide valuable feedback for the team.
• Drive sprint and release plans together with the Scrum Master and organizational technology teams.
• Exercise strong decision-making mandate from the executive group to own the product end-to-end.
• Work with Tech Lead to build a modular and reusable solution.
• Facilitate collaboration of cross-organizational teams to establish, develop, implement, and rollout new capabilities.
• Communicate value and status to various stakeholders and levels of management.
• Participate or lead activities that support system development and deployment, including process redesign and user acceptance testing.

Requirements

• 8 - 10 years of mortgage-related experience with demonstrated experience in Multifamily real estate.
• 2+ years of management experience.
• Experience delivering large, complex change management projects involving multiple teams.
• Demonstrated ability to understand business needs and deliver related value.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Top-notch written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present to management.

• Experience in product management within the technology sector.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and Scrum practices.
