About the position

The Product Owner- Mid-Level position is essential for driving product initiatives within the organization, focusing on understanding industry trends, client needs, and software solutions. This role requires a deep comprehension of business operations and the ability to translate this knowledge into actionable product requirements, leading cross-functional teams to automate existing business processes.

Responsibilities

  • Lead cross-functional initiatives and champion product(s) within a matrixed organization.
  • Translate product vision and roadmaps into actionable priorities for Scrum teams.
  • Gather and synthesize information from multiple sources to uncover trends and actionable conclusions.
  • Conceptualize solutions leveraging current technologies based on industry trends and client needs.
  • Maintain focus and drive results across all business cycles and environments.
  • Demonstrate adaptability to changing needs and priorities in projects.
  • Facilitate conflict resolution and discussions among team members.
  • Apply servant leadership principles to build trust and respect within Scrum teams.
  • Write user stories that capture edge-cases and scenarios for the Scrum team.

Requirements

  • Detailed understanding of the retirement industry to inform product roadmaps and write user stories.
  • Understanding of business operations, processes, and procedures for trade-off decisions and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to gather and synthesize information from multiple sources to uncover trends.
  • Conceptualize solutions leveraging current technologies.
  • Proven ability to write user stories, split large stories, groom the backlog, and conduct release and sprint planning.
  • Strong grasp of software development and technology.
  • Excellent listening skills to understand client needs and underlying problems.
  • Servant leadership and transparency to build trust and lead Scrum teams.
  • Conflict resolution skills to facilitate discussions and resolve issues.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the Scrum process and Agile values.

Nice-to-haves

  • Prior retirement business and operational experience.
  • Scrum Product Owner certification.
  • Experience in a Scaled Agile framework.
  • Prior experience using Jira and Rally.
