Product Owner

About the position

Equifax is seeking a technical product owner who is a master at bridging the desires of the customer and the capabilities of the technology, removing barriers to software development. You will be responsible for grooming the product backlog and have insight into technical requirements of individual stories thus creating a more efficient user experience.

Responsibilities

• Connects with the Customer in partnership with Product Management including: Know the customer & stakeholders, regularly partners with key engineering and QA counterparts, understands the Problem(s) to be solved, and develops whole product solutions.
• Contributes to the Plan and Roadmap including: Weighs in the solutioning and epic decomposition process to groom the backlog of stories, helps identifying, capturing and documenting dependencies required to deliver the plan, and is consulted regarding value/effort dynamics in weighing conversations for quarterly planning.
• Manages & Prioritizes Team Backlog(s) - User Story creation, prioritization and sprint planning, documents story acceptance criteria, and contributes ideas for how to best demonstrate the value delivered.
• Getting and Applying Feedback & Lessons Learned - Captures feedback from Demos, understands drivers of team velocity, monitors adoption KPIs, and adopts feedback in future iterations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a related discipline strongly preferred; equivalent experience may be considered.
• 2-5 years of product management experience or related coursework and project based experience.
• Has a general understanding of Agile methodologies.
• Has a general understanding of data structure & data analytics; relevant experience in financial services is a plus.
• Cloud certification or ability to attain.
