About the position

The Product Owner plays a crucial role in understanding industry trends and client needs, particularly in the retirement sector. This position is responsible for translating market insights and operational processes into actionable product requirements for Scrum teams, ensuring alignment with business objectives. The role emphasizes back-end automation of business processes while also considering front-end elements as necessary. The Product Owner will lead cross-functional initiatives and champion their product(s) within a matrixed organization.

Responsibilities

  • Convert understanding of marketplace and client needs into product requirements (user stories) for Scrum teams.
  • Champion product(s) and lead cross-functional initiatives within a matrixed organization.
  • Focus on back-end automation of existing business processes, with potential front-end elements based on priorities.
  • Gather information from multiple sources to uncover trends and actionable conclusions.
  • Conceptualize solutions leveraging current technologies based on industry trends and client needs.
  • Translate product vision and roadmaps into priorities for Scrum teams.
  • Think creatively to identify out-of-the-box solutions.
  • Apply management and collaboration skills to maximize deliverables of cross-functional teams.
  • Maintain focus and drive results in various business cycles and environments.
  • Demonstrate adaptability to changing project needs and priorities.
  • Listen to client needs to address underlying problems effectively.
  • Exhibit servant leadership to gain respect from Scrum teams and demonstrate value-add principles.
