About the position

The Product Owner is responsible for facilitating the change management process for application updates and environments. This role involves identifying opportunities for product improvement, prioritizing requests, and ensuring alignment with business strategy. The Product Owner will work closely with Software Engineering and Business Analysts to manage the product backlog, develop user acceptance criteria, and monitor project milestones to ensure timely delivery of product updates.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate the change management process for updates to applications and environments.
  • Assist with identifying areas of opportunity for assigned products that align with business strategy.
  • Prioritize requests and improvement opportunities and communicate across the company.
  • Assist Software Engineering in breaking down work for Sprints and developing project milestones.
  • Ensure roadmap and priority timelines are met.
  • Liaise with Business Analysts to develop User Acceptance Criteria for User Stories.
  • Identify and capture the return on investment (ROI) of projects.
  • Maintain product backlog readiness for assigned team.
  • Monitor Azure DevOps to ensure that bugs and PBIs are prioritized and completed in a timely manner.
  • Organize work and release planning to align with Product Management's goals for consistent incremental delivery.
  • Complete meeting notes for applicable stakeholder/project meetings.
  • Complete testing of product updates based on assigned products/tools.
  • Serve as an expert on assigned products/tools, which will be heavily used by customers.
  • Have a working knowledge of additional products/tools/features.
  • Lead sprint reviews and product-specific trainings.
  • Create and maintain product documentation and process flowcharts/diagrams of Product business rules.
  • Manage additional/multiple projects that run simultaneously.
  • Communicate and manage follow-up for items eligible for the R&D tax credit process.
  • Proactively analyze and bring forth ideas for continual improvement.
  • Participate in Usability Group Meetings, Round Tables, and customer workshops.
  • Complete access updates in ISNetworld and Empower per employee moves or departures.
  • Contribute to Client security questionnaires, requests for proposals/information as needed.
  • Support and participate in the organization's Continual Improvement Program to conform to ISO 9001 and ISO 27001 requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university and/or equivalent work experience.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) certifications preferred.
  • 3+ years experience in project management or similar roles.
  • 3+ years experience in Software as a Service (SaaS) background.
  • 3+ years experience as a dedicated Product Owner owning the product life cycle for an application available to end users.
  • 3+ years experience in Agile Scrum methodology.
  • Proficient computer skills in programs including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet, and e-mail applications.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and personal initiative.
  • Proficient presentation skills and solid analytical and problem-solving ability.
  • Ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment.
