About the position

The Product Support Representative at Boyd CAT plays a crucial role in promoting and selling parts and services while ensuring profitable sales and maintaining strong customer relationships. The representative will be responsible for traveling to customer locations, conducting sales calls, and performing equipment inspections in various environmental conditions. This role requires a proactive approach to developing a customer base and assisting new customers in opening accounts, all while maintaining a high level of product knowledge and understanding of the merchandising programs offered by the company and Caterpillar. In addition to sales responsibilities, the Product Support Representative will assist the Parts and Service Departments in preparing estimates, resolving customer product issues, and investigating past due accounts. The representative will also monitor competitive activity and report on customer information and product performance, ensuring that Boyd CAT remains competitive in the market. Responsibilities

  • Promote and sell parts and services offered by the company.
  • Achieve parts and service sales objectives in assigned territory.
  • Travel to customer locations to conduct sales calls and perform equipment inspections.
  • Assist the Parts and Service Departments in preparing estimates and resolving customer product issues.
  • Develop a potential customer base in assigned territory and assist new customers in opening accounts.
  • Monitor and report all pertinent parts and service marketing information relative to competitive activity and product performance.
  • Maintain a high level of product knowledge and merchandising programs offered by the company and Caterpillar.
  • Perform other duties as necessary and assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent industry experience.
  • Good understanding of machine applications and systems required.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills needed.
  • Ability to operate a PC (Windows, Excel, Word, etc).
  • Applicant must be willing to relocate into the PSSR territory.
