About the position

Intelligent Waves is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Product Technical Writer and Content Strategist to develop, curate, and enhance documentation and content that effectively communicates technical product features, user benefits, and strategic value propositions. This role emphasizes creating user-centric, engaging content that drives clarity and user engagement, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to align content with business and innovation goals. The position is remote, based in the Columbus, OH area, and requires the ability to travel up to 50%.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain high-quality, detailed documentation, user guides, white papers, and FAQs to support product users, customers, and internal teams.
• Create, refine, and implement content strategies that align with the business's overall goals and product roadmap.
• Collaborate closely with Product Management, Engineering, Marketing, and Customer Success teams to gather information, understand product requirements, and ensure accuracy and consistency across all content.
• Use a user-centered approach to create engaging product tutorials, feature descriptions, and onboarding materials that improve user experience and reduce customer support needs.
• Analyze and incorporate user feedback, analytics, and engagement metrics to continuously refine content and improve effectiveness.
• Contribute to product development cycles by providing insights on documentation needs, terminology, and customer-facing content requirements.
• Manage and update content repositories to ensure that all materials are accessible, up-to-date, and aligned with the latest product updates.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Innovation and Transformational Design with a focus on business.
• Strong knowledge of content strategy best practices and the ability to develop content frameworks that enhance user engagement and retention.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts in a clear, concise, and engaging manner.
• Proficiency in content management systems (CMS) and technical writing tools.
• Experience in project management, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality content on time.
• Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret content performance metrics and adapt strategies accordingly.
• Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams.
• Detail-oriented, with a commitment to accuracy, consistency, and continuous improvement.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in technical writing for government or defense sectors.
• Familiarity with cybersecurity, data science, or enterprise network engineering.
