About the position

The Production Coordinator for National Geographic's Yellow Border Production Services team plays a crucial role in providing production support within a dynamic and fast-paced environment. This position involves assisting the Vice President and various production teams, ensuring compliance with editorial standards, and managing deliverables for broadcast and streaming platforms. The coordinator will also engage in creative development and help organize production processes from pre-production through post-production.

Responsibilities

  • Provide daily support to the Vice President of National Geographic Studios, including managing schedules, calendars, meetings, and communications.
  • Interface directly with senior executives and their support teams, maintaining effective working relationships.
  • Schedule and coordinate in-person and video team meetings, creating and distributing agendas.
  • Manage team shared calendars, conference room requests, and oversee department's records storage and management systems.
  • Create PowerPoint decks, reports, Excel spreadsheets, and analyses for Yellow Border Production Services.
  • Handle confidential and sensitive information appropriately.
  • Assist the Production Management team with various production tasks as required.
  • Assist production teams with obtaining screeners and program descriptions, maintaining deliverables trackers.
  • Manage and track department's supplies requests and stock vendor accounts.
  • Assist with researching, developing concepts, and writing pitches for shows.
  • Organize quarterly development brainstorm meetings.
  • Assist with the creation of greenlit content from pre-production through post-production.
  • Create production and post-production schedules and ensure timely delivery of shows.
  • Assist with the post-production process for all assigned shows, compiling scripts and creating deliverables.
  • Research stock footage and plan team events.
  • Help create a cohesive and collaborative environment within the department.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2+ years' experience working in content production for a production company or network.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Film Production, Television Production, Journalism, or Communications.
  • Extremely detail-oriented and organized, with strong project management skills.
  • Strong interpersonal communication and writing skills.
  • Ability to collaborate well with team members and third-party vendors.
  • Strong creative thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to update and work within production budgets.
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Teams.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in non-fiction content production is preferred.
  • Additional languages are a plus.
