About the position

The Production Engineering Manager is responsible for overseeing the performance of facility equipment and processes, managing maintenance staff, and ensuring efficient production operations. This role involves troubleshooting robotic and automated systems, distributing work schedules, and compiling reports on production progress and issues. The manager will also be involved in preventative maintenance and the management of spare parts inventory.

Responsibilities

  • Distributes production schedules and work orders to maintenance staff.
  • Troubleshoots systems using programmable controllers, electronics, circuit analysis, mechanics, and sensors.
  • Designs, configures, and modifies robotic systems and computer-controlled robot movements.
  • Disassembles and reassembles robots or peripheral equipment for repairs.
  • Performs preventative or corrective maintenance on electromechanical equipment and robotic systems.
  • Maintains service records of robotic equipment or automated production systems.
  • Reviews production schedules, work orders, and staffing spreadsheets to determine requirements and priorities.
  • Manages department supervisors to assess progress and discuss needed changes.
  • Examines documents and monitors work processes for completeness and accuracy.
  • Manages inventories of spare parts for equipment.
  • Supervises preventive and predictive maintenance activities and periodic inspections.
  • Compiles documentation related to production sequences and maintenance orders.
  • Establishes product construction directions and cost projections.
  • Conducts press line day downtime analysis and on-site response to facility stops.
  • Implements equipment preventive maintenance plans and performance analysis.
  • Attends quality meetings and prepares measures to improve defects.
  • Manages worker evaluations and working hours.
  • Conducts on-site safety training and creates standard documents and manuals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related field preferred.
  • At least 5+ years of manufacturing or processing experience required.
  • Experience in the automobile body parts manufacturing industry preferred.
  • Bilingual in English and Korean and/or Spanish strongly preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to juggle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment and prioritize workload.
  • Team player with high energy and a can-do attitude.
  • Ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
  • Strong math skills with capability in basic arithmetic and statistical operations.
  • Ability to quickly recognize errors and inconsistencies in numerical data.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office programs such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

  • Experience in the automobile body parts manufacturing industry preferred.
  • Bilingual in Korean and/or Spanish strongly preferred.
