About the position

The Production Manager is responsible for the development, placement, execution and follow-up of all sportswear/collection to ensure the timely delivery of quality, profitable goods. This role involves creating an approved vendor matrix based on understanding both the needs of design and the margin goals of the company, placing seasonal buys with factories, tracking development and production from first proto samples to final deliveries, and partnering with various teams to ensure all agreed upon margin goals are met. The Production Manager will also maintain and update work in process on a daily basis, troubleshoot quality and technical issues, create seasonal time and action calendars, communicate production updates, perform special projects, and travel to factories as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Create approved vendor matrix based on understanding both the needs of design and the margin goals of the company.
  • Place all seasonal buys with factories, negotiate/cfm all pricing and deliveries.
  • Track development and production from first proto samples to final deliveries.
  • Partner with technical design and design teams to ensure all fits/submits are approved in a timely manner.
  • Partner with Merchandising, Design and Sales to develop product ensuring margin goals are met.
  • Maintain and update work in process on a daily basis; prioritize wip with factory/agents.
  • Troubleshoot quality and technical issues for product with factories, mills, vendors and team(s).
  • Create seasonal time and action calendars with vendors ensuring buy dates align with delivery dates.
  • Communicate all production updates to cross functional partners.
  • Perform special projects as assigned.
  • Travel to factories, where appropriate.
  • Contribute positively to team dynamic and manage up where necessary.

Requirements

  • Superior organizational skills and excellent communication skills; team oriented.
  • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines; highly detail oriented and meticulous.
  • Creativity, technical capability and sensibility for merchandising/design.
  • Knowledge of garment manufacturing, including construction, fabrication, trim and print techniques, specifically relating to sportswear.
  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • 4 - 7 years experience in apparel production and sourcing; relevant experience in category.
  • Expert level computer skills/Excel.
