Production Manager - Manufacturing

About the position

The Manufacturing Production Manager will oversee the daily operations of the metal fabrication facility, ensuring efficient production processes, adherence to quality standards, and alignment with the company's sustainability goals. Working closely with the Site Director, this role is crucial for driving productivity, maintaining safety standards, and optimizing resource utilization to support the company's mission in renewable energy solutions.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement production schedules to meet business and market demands.
• Set productivity goals for each manufacturing team.
• Coordinate and supervise the activities of production staff to ensure timely and efficient production.
• Monitor production processes and adjust schedules as needed to maintain workflow.
• Develop workflow policies and procedures that improve efficiency without compromising safety or quality.
• Communicate regularly with upper management regarding problems or issues impacting production.
• Ensure that all products meet the required quality standards and specifications.
• Implement and maintain quality control procedures and protocols.
• Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify and address quality issues.
• Oversee inventory levels to ensure adequate supply of raw materials and components.
• Manage procurement processes and maintain relationships with suppliers.
• Utilize SAP for inventory management, tracking, and reporting.
• Handle supply orders, ensuring timely delivery and cost-effectiveness.
• Manage human and material resources to meet production targets.
• Establish a balance between increased productivity and reduced costs of manufacturing operations.
• Optimize the use of equipment and technology to enhance production efficiency.
• Ensure adherence to safety, health, and environmental regulations within the facility.
• Promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement plan and zero waste culture.
• Conduct regular safety training and drills.
• Assess and improve operational systems, processes, and policies to support the organization's mission.
• Evaluate machine resources to ensure continued production and minimal downtime.
• Coordinate corrective and preventive maintenance activities with the team.
• Implement cost control measures to reduce operational expenses.
• Utilize ERP software, particularly SAP, for production planning and inventory management.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing production team.
• Motivate, support, and provide guidance to production staff.
• Ensure adequate scheduling of staff.
• Conduct performance reviews and provide feedback to staff.
• Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment.
• Manage disputes among team members effectively, promoting a positive and productive workplace.
• Maintain relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, including suppliers and customers.
• Prepare and maintain production reports and personnel records.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless operations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in industrial management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
• Advanced degree or certifications (e.g., CPIM, CPOM) are advantageous.
• 6+ years of experience working as a leader in a high-volume manufacturing environment or relevant experience.
• Proficiency working with SAP applications.
• Proven supervisory experience and a strong understanding of manufacturing processes and quality assurance protocols.
• Experience with SAP for inventory and production management.
• Proficiency in manufacturing software and ERP systems, particularly SAP.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
• Knowledge of safety, health, and environmental regulations.
• Ability to write/read/speak Spanish highly desirable.
