Production Manager, Manufacturing

About the position

The role involves collaborating with the Production Scheduler to develop weekly production plans and ensure adequate material availability for production lines. The position requires leading and developing Shift Supervisors while monitoring plant performance to meet daily production and business goals. Additionally, the role includes working with the Maintenance team to prioritize tasks and identify suitable work windows for production areas. The candidate will support associate-driven improvement teams focused on production by collaborating with the Continuous Improvement team. Ensuring compliance with Safety and Food Safety regulations across all production areas is crucial to maintain a safe work environment, produce wholesome products, and maintain audit readiness. The position also involves coordinating, completing, and overseeing job-related activities and assignments by developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, supporting plans and initiatives to meet customer and business needs, identifying and communicating goals and objectives, building accountability and measuring progress, identifying and addressing improvement opportunities, and demonstrating adaptability and promoting continuous learning. Furthermore, the candidate will provide supervision and development opportunities for associates through hiring and training, mentoring, assigning duties, providing recognition, and ensuring diversity awareness.

Responsibilities

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in biochemistry, food science, engineering, business management, or related area.
• 5+ years' experience in progressive leadership roles in a manufacturing environment.
• 10+ years' experience in manufacturing, food processing or dairy processing.

Nice-to-haves

• 10+ years' experience in Safe Quality Foods (SQF) or other Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) formats.
• Experience with Clean in Place/Clean Out of Place (CIP/COP) and other sanitation equipment.
• Experience in writing and maintaining standard operating procedures.
• Experience in writing and maintaining Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures.
