About the position

The Production Manager will plan and oversee the daily operations of the organization to ensure goals and objectives are achieved. Manufacturing Production manages or assists with managing various production activities (e.g., assembly, material forming/shaping, processing, treating, or packaging, etc.)

Responsibilities

  • Organizes, directs, and oversees the schedules and work of front-line employees.
  • Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations.
  • Assists in hiring and training front-line employees.
  • Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.
  • Collaborates with other managers and supervisors to coordinate activities in and among departments.
  • Collects, evaluates, analyzes, and assesses production data.
  • Regularly inspects and evaluates products for quality and defects.
  • Identifies and corrects problems and inefficiencies in process, materials, equipment, or skills.
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, local, and organizational laws, regulations, guidelines, and best practices including those related to safety and health.
  • Develops and implements procedures and strategies to ensure a safe work environment.
  • Collaborates with other departmental managers to develop and execute budget.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Associates degree in related field, or equivalent industry work experience required.
  • 3+ years of experience in leading in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of Electrical manufacturing and products.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes (electrical/mechanical assemblies and motor assembly is preferred).
  • Knowledge of 6S Lean Manufacturing is required.
  • Experience with and knowledge of understanding and interpreting financial reports – using them to make business decisions.
  • Requires a mindset of Continuous Improvement.
  • Excellent managerial and supervisory skills.
  • Extensive knowledge of operations and production management.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Bachelor’s degree in management, Engineering, Business, or required in a relevant field.
