About the position
The Production Supervisor will oversee shift operations in the stamping area, ensuring efficient production processes from 1 PM to 9 PM. This role focuses on leadership, safety compliance, and team development while maintaining high standards of quality and productivity in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead and direct Just-In-Time stamping operations, focusing on health and safety, quality, customer satisfaction, cost, productivity, environmental compliance, and ergonomic improvements.
- Apply problem-solving methodologies (e.g., 8D, 5Y) to resolve issues effectively.
- Maintain effective communication with stamping operators through pre-shift and individual meetings, addressing company policies, procedures, work instructions, rules, and environmental regulations.
- Review production objectives and coordinate with management to maximize product reliability and minimize costs.
- Assign and schedule tasks to meet daily production, quality, and housekeeping goals.
- Lead by example in safety practices, ensuring proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and adherence to procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO).
- Respond immediately to accidents or injuries, initiating investigations and corrective actions.
- Supervise, mentor, and develop team leaders to enhance job performance.
- Manage cross-training activities to improve ergonomics and employee skill development.
- Collaborate with other shifts to communicate quality, production, safety, and supplier issues effectively.
- Recognize accomplishments and milestones in safety, environmental, ergonomics, and employee wellness.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in an automotive manufacturing/stamping environment.
- Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience preferred.
- Strong understanding of lean manufacturing principles.
- Proficiency in Core Tools.
- Familiarity with IATF 16949 standards.
