About the position

The Product Business Analyst role at Core Specialty is designed for individuals looking to enhance their insurance knowledge while contributing to the development and support of commercial auto insurance products. This position involves analytical and project support for underwriting departments, focusing on product development and process improvements within a growing insurance company.

Responsibilities

• Support a company-wide systems migration.
• Contribute to new product/project development through requirements gathering, testing, and training.
• Evaluate existing workflows and develop solutions for business process improvements.
• Collaborate with key personnel to identify and deliver scheduled and ad-hoc reports to underwriting departments and executives.
• Extract and compile data from various sources to analyze and interpret profitability and industry trends.
• Conduct data quality review of policy files and systems data, including a quarterly underwriting file audit.
• Perform quantitative analyses to draw valid conclusions for business decisions.
• Research and review new third-party/public data sources pertinent to the company.
• Assist with preparation of presentations.
• Perform other duties as assigned by CUO, SVP, VP and AVP.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree required, preferably in math, statistics, economics, or business.
• Prior insurance experience is preferred.
• Proficiency with Excel is preferred.
• Ability to think analytically, systemically, and conceptually.
• Quick learner with excellent attention to detail.
• Strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.
• Strong time management, multi-tasking, and organizational skills.
• Ability to pivot easily and frequently.
