About The Position

The Program Analyst position at the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) focuses on analyzing and recommending improvements related to fair housing laws and policies. Requirements

  • One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level in the Federal service, including monitoring civil rights regulatory compliance of state or local agencies.
  • Experience in performing research and analysis of state or local civil rights laws.
  • Experience in developing remedial guidance related to civil rights or Fair Housing Act enforcement programs.

Responsibilities

  • Draft and prepare formal comments regarding the substantial equivalence of state and local fair housing laws to the Fair Housing Act.
  • Analyze and report on FHAP issues and recommend innovative resolutions.
  • Maintain a role in developing new program policies, procedures, and instructions.
  • Draft recommendations for Federal Register notices related to substantial equivalence certification.
  • Establish and maintain liaisons with agencies responsible for fair housing enforcement.
