About the position

The Program Assistant will support the Commonwealth Fund Fellowship in Minority Health Policy at Harvard Medical School, focusing on coordination of fellowship seminars, recruitment, evaluation, and providing assistance for various fellowship programs. This role is ideal for individuals who are detail-oriented, proactive, and have a strong interest in health policy and research, while working with diverse stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate fellowship courses and seminar logistics
  • Manage speaker scheduling and travel arrangements
  • Attend classes to gather and analyze evaluations
  • Prepare notes and maintain records for courses
  • Assist in preparing interim and final reports
  • Provide logistical assistance for Fellows' Journal Clubs
  • Support fellowship recruitment and selection processes
  • Coordinate fellow activities and arrange travel as needed
  • Conduct library and internet research
  • Perform literature reviews and gather data for projects
  • Maintain and update the Reede Scholars online alumni database
  • Develop alumni spotlight profiles and update information on the DICP website
  • Manage alumni listserv and provide administrative support for events
  • Conduct follow-up interviews with alumni fellows

Requirements

  • Three or more years of related experience
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and prioritize tasks
  • Capable of working independently and as part of a team
  • Strong computer skills, including MS Office and Filemaker Pro
