About the position

Lead a program within the GDLS Air Defense portfolio to deliver world class capability to the warfighter and pursue opportunities to expand business within Air Defense. Create and implement a strategy for seeking out adjacent and new business opportunities by understanding and aligning to customer needs. Position will reside in Huntsville, AL with program and capture team support in Sterling Heights, MI.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of individuals responsible to deliver the program to schedule, cost, quality and performance parameters by organizing, coordinating and directing all activities for high complexity programs in conjunction with all required functional organizations.
  • Define the strategy and objectives to successfully deliver the program, considering the company's strategic objectives, while complying with customer and contractual requirements.
  • Manage project scope and ensure that changes are documented and approved within the contractual scope and financial terms.
  • Review Proposals, Contracts, and Modifications to ensure scope is consistent with final negotiations to balance program risk and maintain committed margins.
  • Develop and implement a proactive risk management plan for assigned programs.
  • Assure Integrated Project Team (IPT) resource identification and operate effectively within the environment.
  • Ensure effective communication throughout the program team and with all internal and external stakeholders.
  • Measure and improve program performance by conducting regular reviews of all program task estimates.
  • Outward focus on managing and maintaining superior customer relationships.
  • Work within budgets to establish ROMs and firm pricing as necessary to support the above activities.
  • Seek out opportunities to capture new and adjacent business.

Requirements

  • Experience within the DoD and Defense industry; Air Defense experience strongly preferred.
  • Must have experience in program management required leading teams throughout the proposal and program execution lifecycle.
  • Ideally will possess knowledge on the full lifecycle of capture efforts, including opportunity identification and qualification, RFP assessment, teaming and negotiations and pricing and proposal development.
  • Experience in coaching and mentoring staff; facilitate and mediate conflict and bring a global view to the Program Management Office.
  • Bachelor's degree in business discipline preferred. Will consider bachelor's degree with different discipline combined with years of experience.
  • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).
  • Exposure to Oracle Applications, Teamcenter, TIPQA.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
