About the position

The Program Coordinator of Campus Recreation at the University of Cincinnati is responsible for overseeing human resource functions for full and part-time staff, ensuring compliance with HR policies, and enhancing the student experience through various engagement programs and events. This role includes financial management tasks, direct supervision of student staff, and coordination of IT requests, all while fostering a collaborative and student-focused environment.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as primary liaison with Central HR for a department comprised of 18+ full-time and 400+ part-time staff.
  • Coordinate and process part-time staff paperwork for hiring, separating, and processing pay rate increases.
  • Assist in coordinating professional staff hiring, including submitting necessary paperwork and coordinating interviews.
  • Facilitate the onboarding experience and separation checklist for all staff.
  • Ensure compliance with HR policies and document retention schedules.
  • Manage student bonus bucks and employee of the month programs.
  • Provide direct supervision to front office student staff, including hiring and performance evaluations.
  • Work with professional staff to engage student staff and foster teamwork.
  • Coordinate travel for professional staff and assist with student travel.
  • Assist with financial functions, including budget review and expense reporting.
  • Coordinate and track department IT requests and hardware/software needs.
  • Order staff supplies, uniforms, and other general purchases.
  • Actively serve on department and university committees.
  • Interact positively with campus community and external agencies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Five years of relevant work experience or specialized training in lieu of education requirement.
  • One year of experience in coordinating projects, human resources, or financial activities.

Nice-to-haves

  • One year of employee supervision experience.
  • Strong administrative, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify problems and make logical decisions.
  • Previous experience in hiring, training, and evaluating staff.
  • Knowledge of systems like Concur, PACE, UC Flex, and Microsoft Office.
