About the position

A new initiative within the Institute for Advanced Jesuit Studies, the AMDG program draws from the depths of the Jesuit tradition and its vast national and global apostolic networks, in order to energize the personal and communal religious practices of 625 youth and young adults between the ages of 16-29. The program also offers mentorship development for 25 adults, who will serve as the program's Ambassadors, and up to 50 Boston College undergraduates, who will serve as Beadles for the program. Funded through the Lilly Endowment, the program will be piloted with participants from the Jesuit, Catholic networks, including 15 high schools, five colleges and universities, and five parishes. The Program Director, AMDG is pivotal in shaping and implementing the program from its inception. They hold primary responsibility for contributing to the development, and eventual execution, implementation, evaluation, and success of the AMDG program, ensuring its impact across a diverse and expansive network of Jesuit high schools, colleges, universities, and parishes.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitating and contributing to the design of program structures
  • Fostering relationships with institutional partners, including Jesuit high schools, colleges and universities, and parishes
  • Oversee marketing and communications
  • Lead recruitment and formation of program leaders and participants
  • Managing and execute operations and logistics of the program
  • Conduct ongoing program evaluation and enhancement
  • Maintain a strong understanding and ongoing awareness of the Jesuit Catholic mission
  • Guide and collaborate with the Assistant Program Director and other Institute staff to ensure seamless execution of all program components

Requirements

  • Master's degree required with a strong preference for graduate degree either in theology, education, or administration
  • At least (5) years of increasingly responsible professional experience, preferably in secondary and/or higher education
  • Program and/or event experience
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
  • Detail-oriented
  • Adept at problem-solving
  • Creative
  • Able to work effectively in a team, as well as independently
  • Able to work well with diverse groups of people
  • Demonstrated leadership
