Program Director (Youth Division)

About the position

The City of Chicago is seeking qualified candidates for a position that requires a Bachelor's Degree in the Social Sciences, Business or Public Administration, Public Health, or a directly related field, along with five years of experience in the planning, implementation, or administration of social service, public health, or public service programs. This experience must include at least two years in a management or supervisory role related to the responsibilities of the position. Candidates must also pass a background investigation, drug screen, and other pre-employment procedures as determined by the Chicago Police Department.

Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's Degree in the Social Sciences, Business or Public Administration, Public Health or a directly related field.
• Five years of experience in the planning, implementation or administration of social service, public health or public service programs.
• Two years of experience in a management/supervisory role related to the responsibilities of the position.
• An equivalent combination of education, training and experience, provided that the minimum degree requirement is met.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with the planning, development, coordination and evaluation of programs.
• Possession of a Master's Degree in Social Sciences, Business, Public Administration, Public Health or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of social services programs and resources for youth.
• Strong knowledge of the needs, issues, and concerns of the youth community.
• Knowledge of the many geographical locations throughout the City.
