About the position

The Program Manager of the Biotechnology Master's Program at Brown University is responsible for overseeing the daily operations and strategic initiatives of the program. This role involves financial management, budget planning, and collaboration with faculty and administrative staff to enhance the program's offerings. The Program Manager will also supervise the Program Coordinator and ensure that various initiatives are executed effectively, allowing leadership to focus on high-level tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Biotechnology Master's Program.
  • Manage and reconcile annual program budgets, ensuring fiscal responsibility and accuracy.
  • Develop course evaluation reports for the Program Director's review.
  • Coordinate with Biomed Finance/Analytics regarding MOUs with the School of Professional Studies.
  • Collaborate with the BioEd Program Manager to appoint Biotech faculty.
  • Supervise the Program Coordinator and make independent decisions to troubleshoot issues.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 2 years of related work experience in program management, preferably in an academic environment.
  • Minimum of 1 year of managerial experience.
  • Experience overseeing budgets and making financial models.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs, especially Excel, and other relevant software.
